Precor Personalization Case Study
This case study showcases the process by which Precor evolved the language of their touchscreen application to something that contemplated mobile applications and setting goals. The project also showcases the establishment of a gaming structure. My roles in this redesign effort included: user research, competitive analysis, product research, conducting user testing, information architecture, prototyping, visual design, product guideline structuring, review of builds and development. This application was more than a product improvement - it was a new business model for Precor. It represents a holistic way of looking at fitness - from the gym context, to every day life, in a single coherent ecosystem. This application engages with users in a compelling way, specifically addressing goals established, and biometrics that are established and defined by the user. Stories of personalization, gamification and ultimately user retention come into play in this product. The results are quantifiable in terms of both volume of sales, but also in the patented technologies that came from it.
